Does Anyone Know of an Artist Who Does…

I somehow tried and failed to share this post a couple of weeks ago… Among many great suggestions here, pay special attention to the suggestions on HOW to approach a theme in art instruction (with the Day of the Dead example). With so many (bad) examples in the Art Ed that promote mimicry, it can be a challenge for art educators to connect art making practice in a meaningful way with the study of artists. The post presents some alternatives to doing just that.

Good art teaching comes from the development of planning that opens minds, it doesn’t direct outcomes.
