This is the essence of the art room decor dialogue: what is the right amount of decoration to provide information and inspiration without over-stimulation? I don’t know the answer.
The classroom I am visiting this morning has an abundance of art and information displayed around the room. In places, student artwork is mixed with teacher content. In others, thorough lesson information is provided (like on the boards below).
Some might find it a little chaotic and over-stimulating, but this teacher wants her students to have quick access to reminders of the process steps, as well as an abundance of art examples that inspire quality work and creativity.
